Allergies

Some children have very serious food allergies, e.g. peanuts, which all staff should be made aware of. We do enjoy celebrating children's birthdays and special occasions but please check with staff when bringing in cakes or other food to make sure it is appropriate for all the children.

 

Stewart Child Care Services is a total Nut Free Zone and therefore if parents are bringing in any home cooked food a list of ingredients would be appreciated.

 

Common Illnesses

We do suggest if your child needs one to one attention because they are not well then the best place for them is at home. However common coughs and colds are all part of a child's life and these we can deal with, but a sick child will always want Mum or Dad!! However if the child's condition worsens whilst the child is in care parents will be contacted immediately to come and collect their child.

 

Sun Smart Centre

 

We are also a recognized 'Sun Smart Centre' which means children wear hats outside at all times and SPF15+ sunscreen is applied when necessary.
