In the Kookaburra Early Learning Unit, we provide a carefully planned programme that reflects both group and individual needs. We aim to provide a loving, caring, safe and secure environment.

Kookaburra Room Intentions
Through ongoing observations and reflection, we aim to provide enriching experiences that promote children’s development, self-esteem and individuality.

All children are encouraged to be active participants in creating their very own learning environment.

We provide learning spaces using the natural environment, which includes plants, trees, edible gardens, sand, rocks, mud, water & other elements from nature. These spaces invite open-ended interactions, spontaneity, risk-taking, exploration, discovery & a connection to nature.

Our individual and group planning consists of short and long term goals which are child-focused.

Spontaneous learning is at the core of our planning and stems from daily communication with children and families.

As Early Childhood Educators, we encourage and assist children’s needs with routine tasks, as well as providing an environment that fosters self-help skills and independence.

All children are provided each day with a balance of active and quiet activities, both indoor and outdoor as well as time for resting.
